The Customer Promise

Help Save the Butchers was built around the belief that customers should expect more than a package of meat. They should have access to knowledgeable people who can help them make a better purchase.

You should be able to ask questions

You should be able to ask: What cut should I use? What is the difference between these two steaks? How thick should I have this cut? How much do I need? Can you cut this differently? Is there another cut that would work for less money?

You should be able to ask for a special cut

Not every family eats the same way. Some people want thick steaks. Others need a smaller roast. You should not always have to settle for the package that happens to be in the case.

You should know there is knowledge behind the counter

A good butcher understands where the cut comes from, how tender it is, how it should be cooked, what can be substituted, how much you may need and how to cut it for the way you plan to use it.

You should be able to see the department at work

Fresh cutting should not feel mysterious. The cutting room, meat case, labels and employees should all tell the same story: There are people here who know this product.

You should be treated like your question matters

A customer asking a question should never feel as though they are interrupting the department. That conversation is part of the service.

That is the promise behind Help Save the Butchers:
Fresh meat matters. Quality matters. But so does having somebody there who can help you understand what you are buying.
