Windham IGA & Help Save the Butchers Commercials

The original commercials are part of the story. Some were serious, some were deliberately corny, and some simply made people laugh — but they all helped customers remember that there were real butchers in the store.

Original commercials, original history. These commercials were created when the store was Windham IGA, and we’ve kept that original branding in the videos because it is part of the Help Save the Butchers story. Today the store is Bob’s Butcher & Basket, but the family, the butchers and the commitment to service are the same.

Some of the commercials that built the HSTB identity

This is the advertising side of Help Save the Butchers — the spots customers saw on television, in-store and online as the program developed.

They show how the idea became an identity

Help Save the Butchers was never only a slogan. The commercials gave customers a simple picture of what made the meat department different: people who actually cut meat, people customers could talk to, and people who knew the product.

The style changed over the years, but the message stayed consistent. Real butchers. Fresh-cut meat. Real answers. Real service.

Sell the sizzle, not just the steak. The commercials made the message memorable; the butcher counter had to deliver on it.
